i forgot to add that in the posts above, the same person who was trying to stick me with the $1000 extra for being out of state, was also trying to charge me over mileage on my car. he asked me what the terms of my lease were and i told him i was supposed to be doing 10,000 miles a year for a total of 30,000 miles. he then asked for the current milage on the car in which i told him about 39,000. he proceceed to his calculator and said even though i was buying out my lease i still went over and HAD to pay the $2700 over mileage charge 9000 miles * 30 cents. i told him the out of state $1000 didn't make any sense and now this $2700 didn't make any more sense than the other one. mind you this is coming from a person who has the title "finance manager/ director" at rector. i called him on it and told him at the signing of the lease this was NEVER, and i mean NEVER mentioned to us. i also told him, it really doesn't make any sense to get charged the over mileage even though you are buying the car off the lease. he told me not to worry about it since he said he can get the bank to forget about it and that he could work magic with numbers. i basically started to laugh inside since that $2700 wasn't real and of course he can make it go away since it never existed.
after all the complete bs rector's finance told me, i headed back to stevens creek to get the needed paper work started to make my car certified with an audi assured warranty. i assumed that they would just check the car to make sure it was mechnically sound and if there was a problem they would fix it as the car was still under warranty. oh boy was i wrong. having the car pass the certification means you bascially must have a stock car to make it easier on yourself. in my case i had a small chip in the front windshield, some damage to the rear bumper along with all my mods. he told me that if i wanted to go through the certifcation i would end up paying for at least a new windshield, a new rear bumper or repaired rear bumper, and anything else that arose on top of the $950 they charge for the warranty. so with all the extra cost adding up, it didn't really make any sense for myself to get an audi assured warranty even though a 2 year up to 100,000 mile warranty extention from audi sounded good.
i really wanted to do the audi assured warranty since in my situation $950 for a 2 year 60,000 mile (100,000 -40,000 = 60,000 mile) warranty was better than the other ones offered by other aftermarket companies. in the end i decided to get the aftermarket warranty through stevens creek audi for $2861 for a 4 yr, up to 100,000 mile elite plus coverage with performance first. if i had acted earlier about a month and could let the warranty company see i had no problems for 30 days 1000 miles then the price would have been $21xx. sorry i can't remember the exact amount, but its basically a $700 difference. one thing this warranty covers most other ones don't is it covers the timing belt or your timing chain. they figure, its cheaper to cover the timing belt than to wait for it to break and cause more damage.
i scanned the contract booklet but when i put it through the picture poster the text comes out too small to read easily. so if anyone has web space to spare let me know and i'll send the full scans to you.

explain covering the timing belt part
do they pay to have it replaced before it breaks or is it just under the covered parts list? Does the warranty say explicitly that they will pay for all damages subsequent to a TB failure or just the belt? Paying for a $60 belt that fails is one thing, paying for the $3000 in damages from that $60 part is another.

under parts covered it has "timing belt or timing chain"
i asked the person who sold it to me and said when i roll around 60k they take a picture send it to the warranty company, then replace the timing belt for the customer.
