AUDI: Auto Union Deutschland Ingolstadt (German auto manufacturer)

Popular misconception. Actually, it's the latin word for "hark", or "Horch" in German.

Horch was the name of the man who is generally recognised as the father of Audi.

Mark, is there any more info (online or otherwise) related to the history of Audi that you know of?

There is a nice hardcover book out about Audi history.

I forgot what the title is but I'm pretty sure you can order it through Audi's website. I flipped through it one day at my local Barnes & Noble and I must say it's really nice. I think it goes for about $30 and is definitely of high quality. Perhaps a nice book for the coffee table?

I have a (softcover) book by Paul Harris called "Sutton's Photo History of Transport: AUDI

I posted a pic of the cover on AW a few weeks ago, but I deleted it from the pic poster today to make room for new pics, sorry.

Cheers,
Mark
