Audi vs BMW Parts ?$?$?$
I'm looking to buy an Audi soon possibly a 99 or 2000 A4. I love the look of Audi's however I know that they are prone to repairs and that for the most part BMW's are more reliable. Thus I may get a BMW. I was wondering how the cost of Audi parts compare to BMW parts.

bmw's cost more....(in my experience anyways)
97 m3 broke my bank. (it was good till i got the dinan charger....)
however it seems audi's have more things that go wrong. i havn't had anything brake except for the plastic dip stick attatchment. (replaced free after warrenty!)

Re: Audi vs BMW Parts ?$?$?$
I own an Audi and I'm doing work on a '97 M3.
I haven't had to buy any parts for the Audi (yet), but parts for the BMW have seemed reasonable considering the performance level of the car.
I worked at a parts house and the prices for most of the BMW parts seem in line with other imported cars.
The BMW has so far been fairly good to work on. Some areas have been a bit tight, but this is to be expected on a modern car and doesn't seem as bad as some. The Bentley manual for the car is pretty good and the web has bee nvery helpful as far as filling in the cracks for the home-mechanic. I pop on the Audi and can't imagine how anyone works on these things. Hell, it took an Audi DEALER a month to replace the engine on my car after a timing belt broke at 56k.
