so OP, what was the resolution of this issue? Did you find the fill-hole and change the ATF and remedy your issue or what ???

yes the fill hole is located at the side of the oil pan. What I did to fix my transmission was we rebuild my transmission and what we found out was the clutches are all worn out, the teeth of some gears are good.

I used this workshop manual.

I have a 2014 audi A5. I bought in June of 2017 with 8200 miles. It now has 14300 miles and is doing the same thing. Don't know what it is?

i had same situation happened on my Lexus LS400 and Benz S430 when they reached about 10 years old.

On LS400, the engine would be stopped at STOP Sign, downhill, or had pause when accelerating from low speed; the issue was at ignition wire - it had a gap in one of 8 wires in middle of the wire.

On S430, when at low speed, the car had pause, the issue was one of 8 ignition coils unit had a tiny crack so moisture got in which caused the connectors (between Wire and Coil) to be corroded (saw green stuff around connectors)... I always thought it was gear shifting issue...

Both issues were due to engine that were running at low RPM so the ignition voltage were lower... won't make spark, so engine missed a cycle.
