Default Aux Electric fan loose/vibrating. What could it be? Can the fan be tightened?

If not, part numbers/estimate for repair please.

Default

Only thing to tighten IIRC is a screw, it mostly snaps into place.

Default To clarify, the fan blade assy is loose on the "axle". The assy is tight in the rad support.

It's as if the bearings(if there are any) have worn out and it's causing the fan blade assy to be loose on it's spindle. Main q is if that can be fixed, or if the fan has to be replaced.

Default Maybe

Try removing the assy, and there is a very small nut which holds the fan onto a shaft. Try tightening this nut and see if that fixes it. If not they are only $150 or so and DIY.

Default Yep, gonna try it tonight hopefully. Fan looks easy to remove...I think.

I may just leave it out if it can't be fixed, cold enough here that I won't overheat anyway.

Default I just did this to my brother's VW golf.

I took the radiator out and pulled the fan assembly and tightened the nut that holds the fan to the motor. It seems to have worked for me.
