Basic A4 eng damage ??
I took my 97 A4 in to have an oil leak resolved. The dealer said I needed a seal on the front end replaced. They phoned today saying that they damaged the engine, evidently after the seal was replaced they started the car and the cam shaft slipped. They know that some valves were bent and intend to take the top end of the motor off tommorropw to fully investigate. I have very basic engine knowledge. What should I ask the dealer? They have told me that they will make everything right at no cost.. Any thoughts?

Re: if valves are bent and there is any marks on the pistons make them replace
Kinda of a dumb ?, but will the marks be very evident?
I imagine the marks will be on top of the pistons.
