Hi, I need some help on decided what exhaust to buy for my 01 a4 1.8t, I was looking at awe and they sell a 2.25 inch borla catback, but I'm not sure if that's worth it because correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the stock exhaust 2.25 which makes no sense to
By the same size. Apr sells a 2.5 which ive looked at for months but they just raise the price to 959 bucks while the borla at awe is 770. Can someone please help me!

I've got that Borla from AWE and have loved it from day one. Butt dyno felt the power increase, but thats debatable. I have a K04 now and the sound is fantastic. Can't comment about the diameter if you want to go bigger turbo though.

Slight threadjack - can anyone recommend a high flow cat / does Borla make one for our cars?

I have the Borla from AWE as well and love the exhaust. I have had the original Gen 1 exhaust from Borla and that was a 2.5" exhaust, but I had fitment issues with that (in rain), and have since gone to the latest with AWE/Borla with the most restrictive being 2.25" in certain areas of the exhaust. Love it overall and would recommend it (Price point included in recommendation).

Not sure how much performance you are expecting out of it, but the CAT is the most restrictive after the turbo. I have the Highflow CAT from Milltek and that was more of a gain then just the exhaust.

Without a Turbo upgrade, I wouldn't expect a huge gain (outside of chipping).
