This thing is amazing. Pics do not do justice as to how beautiful the car really is.

I grabbed a Sport model w/ BBS -esque rims, Sport (DROPPED!) suspension, "M" accents and steering wheel and xenon lamps. I went w/ an Auto trans..... W/ this car, it honestly doesnt matter if its stick or not because the auto shifts so precisely and quick that i HONESTLY dont mind the difference.

its Silver w/ gray leather, automatic, Holy **** is this thing smooth . It has that heavy firm driving feel and on the highway i was flying and didnt even notice it. For a I6 2.8 on a heavy car such as itself, it really moves. Not to mention all the little luxury accomodations it has

Im gonna hold onto it for a while until the baby is fully tuned , im just looking for a fmic. I have to say i always thought BMW was all hyped up for no reason and even for a 7 yr old car, this thing drives and feels brand new, So i gotta give it to them,

Former BMW hater..... What do you think?

qfrog Ti20 05-09-2007 05:50 PM

The E39 is a nice car... but I'd have opted for a manual.

I'm still a BMW hater!

I could never own a BMW. the reputation/stereotype proceeds it.

I have been involved in too many incidents with bimmer drivers, and they're all the same. pr!cks.

a comment....

Congrats on the purchase, though I'm in agreement with qfrog and would op for a manual. The 5 and 3 series are certainly done well. The last 5 series we had was still going strong in the hands of the next owners at 325+k with no major mechanical work done. Much like Audi though, auto tranmission's are not one of BMW's most robust mechanical features on the car. Looks great(non Banglized), the sports pkg is a must-have on any BMW. You probably find that 5 series will be a bullit proof car compared to a C5 A6, of course missing the AWD though. Everything is seeming easy to work on except for the vanos. Good luck with it.

I must admit I do feel older when driving it.....So i agree somewhat
