California Emissions?

California Emissions?
Moving to the Bay Area the end of May. I have a 99.5 1.8T and a 2000 VW Golf TDI Diesel. Is there anything I have to do to these cars to register them in California? How expensive is it if I do?

I know California is more strict with their emissions. I've done nothing special to the cars..just didn't know if they would pass as is or if I'd need something special that California would require..

In recent years the standards are almost the same as any other state (m)
I think diesels are exempt.
I do have read outs from CA and CT, indicating the allowable levels, but not on me right now. I think it would be very difficult to fail with cars as new as yours.
Of course, run the vehicle for at least 20 min to warm up the catalytic converters.
