I just purchased an unused S4 cluster [0 miles] and would like to swap it into my A4. Does anyone know how to input the new milege with a Vag-Com? Will there be any compatibility issues with the instuments or should it be plug and play?

if you A4 is between 96-99 then you will have problem because of Can-Bus not present in A4, it started in 99.5 modell..

Take a look at the auction page. It states that the cluster is 1998 1999 model year. That's the year it was on the S4, has nothing to do with what years it might work to swap it to the A4.

the newer A4's have this to transmit data between things like the radio and the instrument cluster.

Does this mean I have can-bus? I may have made a mistake in purchasing this cluster. If it doesn't work it will be back on eBay I suppose.

I think you relate to TMC/CAN gateway which is box for navigation that you can connect other devices to it
