so not worth it....

FYI 2002 1.8TQMS (loaded) is 38K CAD (22K USD)
I think that is a little less then what it costs in US. This is the price given to me at the dealer when I was looking for a car for my relative.
Now, my other relative used to purchase cars in Canada and sell them in US. Here is the trick - US will charge huge taxes on bringing a car from Canada unless the vehicle was made in Canada or USA! You will also need to change the speedo and may be a few other things to be able to drive the car in US. Audi may also have a problem with you if you decide to do that. When you purchase the car in Canada, you have to regester it here. They may not just sell the car to you without regestering and they will probably not allow you to regester it in USA. So what you have to do is to regester it in Canada and then re-regester it in US. The only way dealer will let you take the car from them without regestering (to the best of my knowledge) is if you tell them that you are getting it for export, but then its a whole other story.
I do not think that it makes sence to go through all this trouble with a brand new car. Used is another story, but not brand new.
If you want to save some money, then find some relatives in Canada that would be willing to let you regester the car under their address and then drive it in US with Canadian plates and Canadian insurance. Keyword insurance, cause if its higher then what it is in States, then that may no be worth it.
Hope this helps.
