I have a 97 a4 quattro 1.8t 5-speed

I Have been trying to get my key fobs to work and have been unsuccessful. I have tried many of the instructions that you find on the internet with no avail. I recently got a ebay knock off vag-com setup and was able to reset my guage cluster and my ecu soft coding (had auto ecu) but I don't know if it is talking with the central locking unit correctly. I have reset dtc in the central locking unit. I have gone to the "adaptation" and tried channel "01" and it says error and I have also tried channel "21" and it says error as well. I have tried channel "00" and clicked save to reset. It doesn't give me an error but when I go to check "measuring blocks" on channel "003" it says in the second box to the left for remotes it says "0001". Im assuming that means that it still is paired with 1 remote even though I tried to clear the remotes with the adaptation. I also tried leaving the central locking unit unplugged over night to see if that would help. However when I plugged it in and checked for dtc it still had them saved. I know I said I reset the dtc earlier but when you trip the alarm it saves it as a dtc. I was running tests on the alarm. so I figured that I would leave the dtc in there while I unplugged the unit to see if it had reset but im not sure if the dtc is stored in the central locking unit itself or another unit. I have 1 valet key and 2 key fobs that I got off of Amazon and had them cut locally I did check to make sure they had batteries. they start the car but wont program. Any help would be appreciated.

 

Bump does anyone have an idea or should I try getting another unit from the wrecking yard?
