Chasing a Gremlin.
I have begun chasing a gremlin on my 1999 Audi A4 1.8L euro spec, non-turbo, and could use a push in the right direction. The problem is that the car randomly hiccups for no apparent reason. It is completely without rhyme or reason. It happens at idle, acceleration, maintaining a constant speed, or downshifting. It doesn't happen often, but when it does, it is annoying. Cold, and wet doesn't seem to change the frequency. I have changed the spark plugs, because it felt like a plug with a cracked insulator, and have also changed the voltage regulator on the alternator. Oh, and by hiccup, I mean it is like the engine loses all power for a half a second and then kicks right back on. The only other thing I can think of is a bad ground somewhere. If anyone knows which grounds I should look at specifically that would be great, or if anyone has any super awesome ideas involving a quart of oil in a fish bowl surrounded by chicken bones, well, I'm down with that too.
