Check engine light
From searching the forum I have checked the gas cap and fed it a bottle of fuel injector cleaner two tanks ago. I replaced the spark plugs, air filter and oil in the past month, unrelated to this issue. I think next is to try cleaning the MAF, but am looking for other ideas.
If it matters I have 72K miles.
I was going to put a Vag-Com on my Xmas wish list, guess I may have to get one sooner.
Thanks
Honestly, I think this sensor **** is a conspiracy by the smart german delaers to get your car into the shop for dollars....ha !
Did cars function less well when autos didnt have feedback sensor systems?...and it seems that the levels of sensors are divided into beginner , like myself, or advanced levels .
On the beginner level most of us can deal with oil, coolant sensors alerts...But beyond that level, can the average auto owner reasonably fix the repairs that a more advanced sensor warrants WITHOUT having the required in house dealer diagnostics to assess them?
just a thought!...comments?
I figured it was the MAF so i cleaned it, and that didn't work out so i broke down and got a new one. Installed it last night and it seemed to work.
I found a store online for $137, much cheaper than anyone else.
Good luck
I mean why would the dealer meter out any of this data?..duhhh...It was marketing idea to soothe the car addict wannabe's appetite with some data to feel like one has a grip on what the hell is going on with your car...But with most of those codes..one has to spend a great deal of time discerning how to intrepret it, how to assess its meaning, etc....
whatever!
