whatever it is, it is serious and you should not drive the car
Don't drive any more than you absolutely have to. A solid check engine light (CEL) means something was detected out of the ordinary and it should be checked out. A blinking CEL means something is seriously wrong and you should have it looked at immediately., or at least stop driving it until you can have it checked out.
