Check Engine Light Help
So my friend was real bright and tried to refuel his car while it was running. Will this cause any major damage? So far he says nothing seems different, except the check engine light is now on. Is this even why the light came on, and if there are no serious problems how can he reset the check engine light?

Connect a VAG tool and read the codes. You will probably see something about a small leak,
which would be from the gas cap open while fueling. If that's all it is, just use the tool to reset it.
Either way, I would find a VAG and read the code before you try to get rid of it.

Just go to one of the local Audi meets and ask someone to bring a VAG tool
I'm assuming this whole time your buddy has an Audi, BTW.
If not, I'm not sure where to find the diagnostics tools for other cars
Sometimes, a really nice dealer will do this for you. Try calling a dealership, and just tell them. ("I left the car running while fueling and set of the CEL. I was wondering if I could drive my car by and get it cleared... though I'd like to read the code first to make sure that's all that's wrong...."
Be polite. I had a dealer loan me a VAG for free once just to recode my windows to roll down on their own. He was just excited to see this new feature, having never seen it before!
