Is the chrome trim on the stock grille the same as the chrome trim on the RS4 grille?

Default Is the chrome trim on the stock grille the same as the chrome trim on the RS4 grille?
Some ******* just hit my car and took off without leaving a note, so I'm getting my car fixed and they are painting the trim on the grille for free. I don't have the RS4 grille yet, but I'm getting it soon. Can I have them paint my stock trim and then put it on the RS4 grille?

Default you can do that. The trim surround can be put on either. they are ....
the same, just a different finishe on the RS4 grill, its a matte silver.

Default only if the trim is from a 97-99... they changed trims after IIRC
I know the 2001 have a newer grille.

Default yes, as long as that trim is for a car made prior to the 99.5 Model year
I have the chrome trim from my stock grille on my RS4 grille... looks good IMO, it fits with the window trim

Ya, my stock trim (2.8 12v) looks different in shape than my RS4 grill.
