Cluster Compatibility
Got a 2000 A4 1.8t Tip Sport that needs a new instrument cluster, is there any interchangeability between model years or even models? Part number of the one I have is
8D0 920 980 C
Where is a good place to source a replacement?

I believe you have to buy from the dealer and they buy exactly for your vehicle. My cluster is done as well. It is a good idea to phone Audi America and let them know about your problem.

If it's because your digital has faded, it's a warranty.
If you have assured. Also, when you replace the instrument cluster, you need to reprogram your keys. For this you'll at least need a VAG.com. I don't know if this would create interchangeability problems as well, but I bet it might.
