Default cluster question?
will a 1998 audi a4 1.8t 5spd gauge cluster be a direct fit and work on a 1997 audi a4 2.8 v6 5spd?

They changed the cluster at 98.5 so maybe.

You will have to recode it for 4 / 6 cylinder otherwise the rev counter will be wrong.

You cannot even recode it. The connectors on the rear are completely different. Make sure you search the archives to find these answers to save you some time. Cheers and good luck! I dont think its too hard to get 97 clusters that work. Go to www.car-part.com
