Coilover Question...
I have factory sport suspension, which is not quite as sporty as I would like. The Intrax anti-sway kit has helped with body roll, but I think lowering is still necessary. My problem is that I live in German Village in Columbus and all the streets in my neighborhood are decrepid cobblestone. Is adding H&R coilovers going to make cobblestone driving even more unbearable???
IMO, the smaller bumps like c-stones and rough pavement get soaked up better than stock suspension because the shocks are so much better. However, having much stiffer settings and less travel, the car "followed" any larger dips in the pavement rather than just soaking it up as before (I had non-sport stock setup).
I just moved the back up by about 3/8" and the difference is noticeable.
BTW, Tirerack.com sells the complete adjustable Koni suspension at $973.
My advice would be that just replacing the shocks with Bilsteins or Konis will get you 95% of what you want. If you've got the budget, go for the coilovers, but ask yourself seriously if you'll really like having the car much lower than it is now over the long term. But, if you like to tinker with stuff like this, then go for it.
Good Luck!
