Aftermarket turn-off delay...Alpine 7949
Attn: Dan Schafer... I've been unable to return reply your Emails. Apparently something wrong with the address...
I designed a turn-off delay for the Alpine 7949 using a 555 timer ic. It requires mounting a very small pushbutton in the Scosche bracket bezel. With the ignition off you can press the button to initiate a 1 hour turn-on of the head unit. It works exactly as the Concert Radio but requires the pushbutton to initiate turn-on rather than turning the radio off and back on again. The ignition lead to the radio is matrix'd through diodes so that it can be turned on by the output of the 555 timer IC circuitry or from the ignition source of the A4. You need to connect the output of the 555 IC to an FET transistor in order to get the necessary drive current for the radio. I can scan in a schematic if anyone is interested. All Radio Shack parts..

Thank you very much Tony. I kind of get what you are saying. I understand the basics & purpose of the parts. However if you could provide a parts list and schmatic that would be fantastic. We should put it in the FAQ
(Sorry about the trouble with my e-mail try which ever one you haven't prior
dan.schafer@eds.com
schafari@earthlink .net
Thank you !!!
