Nice. Wonder when I'll get my letter.

Yeah too bad its only the front lowers...

all the control arms wear out prematurely.

"...and you can provide documentation of maintenance....by authorized Audi dealership..."

There's the loophole right there. I wonder what specific maintenance they're looking for....anyone have their manual handy? You can bet the farm that they'll use this to reject the majority of the claims.....that's too bad.

Potential Noob question - Why doesn't this cover the 2001 A4?

I might had read something about changes to the 2001 model year, but I can't remember.

So does this mean that the 2001's don't have control arm issues?

Re: Control arm recall....its for real

Nice timing. I was just here yesterday to search for possible causes of a mild clunking noise when turning at low speeds. One of the causes I found was possible control arm problems. I doubt I'll get them replaced for free because of the "provide documentation of maintenance performed.." statement. I bought the car used from a private seller about 9 months ago and I've been doing the majority of the work myself since I've owned it. I guess it won't hurt to try. Anyone have any experience dealing with Audi about similar matters?

I have a 2001 and both of my boots have torn open . Could this possibly be something to have Audi

look at to see if it would be covered on the same recall. This is BS that 2001's are not included whem I'm obviuosly having similar problems. Any info. is appreciated.

Re: Control arm recall....its for real

I am also the second owner of my car, but I just called the dealership and told them I had heard of this recall...at first he said no it was only for the A6, but after he ran the VIN # he came back and said it was valid and set me up an appt.
