Coolant Longtevitiy Question
Hey Guys,
Quick question regarding coolant for our cars....this question may be dependent on the type of climate/weather I experience. So keep in mind I live in Texas where it's fairly warm most of the time (not much freezing weather, thought there has been some.)
Question:
How long does everyone typically go before having to fill up on coolant? I topped mine off back in November for my long drive back home for Thanksgiving holiday, but last night when I was running some errands the low coolant light started flashing.
When I got home, I had found that I had virtually no coolant, the "liquid line" was wayyyy below the "Min" mark.
So I am trying to determine if maybe I have a slow coolant leak....I replaced the coolant flange last year, so I know it can't be that. Any other ideas?
Thanks in advance everyone!

You need to look very close
Start by checking the rad hoses, then move under the intake mani, check rear of cyl head, inspect the coolant tank for stress cracks...etc. Keep looking for the pink crusty stuff hanging out.
On the side note, you live in Texas, forget about coolant, use plain ol distilled water, its a better heat transfer......

That's retarded. No person in their right mind would do that
It's called COOLANT for a reason. It raises the boiling point for the water, lubes seals, and prevents corrosion.
Even I'm not that stupid.
