cornering light problem...

cornering light problem...
had my headlights on last night and noticed that my cornering light was out so before getting a new one today i figured i would switch bulbs just to make sure it was the bulb. its not the bulb. they are the dual filament 1157, they will light up to blink but will not come on with my headlights or parking lights. any ideas? could there be something wrong with the way it is making contact? and how do you change the cornering bulb with ecodes, im taking the full housing out each time, is there an easier way?
