Correct Vacuum Line for Seafoaming my A4 2.8 B5
1 Attachment(s)
Hi All,
I have a 99.5 A4 2.8 30V with 150K miles. I just redid my timing belt (all good) and thought I'll de-carbon the engine with seafoam (never did it before). The tech article talks about the 1.8 and the linked 2.8 process does not have any pics. Can someone please guide me on which vacuum line to use for the seafoam process? Over the weekend, I filled my gas tank and added a full bottle of seafoam to it. Over the next weekend, I plan to first add 1/3rd bottle to the engine oil, run it for 50 - 70 miles and then add another 1/3rd bottle of seafoam in through my vacuum lines... do the smoke run and then complete with an oil change. Let me know if this is correct and please, point out the vacuum line I should use! Thanks! |
Don't run Seafoam too long in the oil. The vacuum hose that directly feeds into the throttle body is the correct one. :))

Follow the hose from the brake booster.

I did it that way: I disconnected line from brake booster and insert straw to hose to suck seafoam from cup. Engine like it ;)
