creaking creaking creaking
I turn my steering wheel slowly while at a standstill and i hear creaking from the front left wheel well. I'm going very slow over bumps and I hear creaking... Is this a bad control arm (what do these do by the way?) or suspension? It's annoying the hell out of me. Will it be expensive to fix out of warrenty? Thanks.

I believe I had exactly the same problem...
When I sat in my car at a standstill and turned the wheel to either the right or left, I heard a creaking. I originally thought it was the outer tie-rod ends, which needed replacing anyway. However, I learned, from the dealership, that it was a front lower track arm that needed replacing. I had about 75000 miles on the car at the time and was well out of warranty :-(...The track arm alone cost 299.82 according to my invoice. I had the tie-rod ends done at the same time for which parts cost 120.68. Total labor for both jobs done together cost 287.85 at 63/hr.

The creaking for me was the Front and Rear Stablizer Bars; I know two other people that had this ..
The creaking for me was the Front and Rear Stablizer Bars; I know two other people that had this problem. Audi its an expensive repair, I think about 1300, but the dealership couldnt charge me since I had only had the car (used) for about 2 weeks. Good luck.
