Dead Pixels on Dash??

Dead Pixels on Dash??
Anyone have any ideas as to why there is a line through the digital dash? The best description I can give are dead pixels on a laptop monitor. It appears the "lights" are out through some of the text on the dash. It is intermittent and is not always there. Perhaps it is time to give the car up???

.... the LCD in the instrument cluster is gone. Live with it or get it replaced at the dealership. It's not cheap. The lines will come back as the weather cools down and disappear as it gets hot. I don't think the instrument cluster is the decisive factor there (or hope not), it happened to me when I bought it as a CPO car.

If you think clusterpox will signify time to give the car up...you've got another thing coming.
But anyways, click the link to the FAQ in my sig and first look for "Dead instrument cluster pixel, AKA cluster-pox" in the common problems and their repairs section. After you read about why your screen is starting to go kaput, you can look up all the other problems you are about to have.

I meant the exact same thing. Excuse my English:) Mine was under facorty warranty when I replaced it
however people have posted prices over time. I'd start with the FAQ and do a search or just call a dealership. They might give you a quote over the phone for the part. I'm pretty sure there's a core charge.

The stealership stole my car... How can you not finish a thermostat job? (rant warning)
A more important customer with a porsche or newer audi is my guess... I bet they didn't even get started on it today... if you work on it for a thermostat you'd not put it together till it's done, would you...
