parts < $200 so that leaves nearly $300 for labor...yeah thats a bad deal.

Default Pads: $40-50 Rotors: $60-80

Go to germanautoparts.com for the parts.

The only catch is you'll need a rear caliper piston tool (search for details) to retract the rear pistons. That tools is available at harborfreighttools for about $40.

Stratocaster did a full write up on the procedure. Search the archives, and you can review that to determine if this is something you want to tackle. I will add...this is a very good first DIY project. Not difficult, and if you're using the correct tool for the rear piston, there is very little that will go wrong.

Default Do you have a few tools? If so, do it yourself

replacing just the rear pads should take about 1 hour if you go slowly.

Its as easy as removing the wheel, taking off two 13mm bolts. removing the caliper, compressing piston (there is a tool for this, perhaps someone in your neighborhood has one?), replacing old pads with new, put caliper back on carrier, tighten bolts and put wheel back on.

Should any queries arise, feel free...

Default Still waiting to throw a CEL again

did some research here and think it may be one of 3 things:

gas cap
faulty egr valve
burned evap hose from tank (I have a miltek exhaust and read a few posts of people's muffler melting a hose on left side of spare tire well.

I'll check the latter as soon as things dry up here.

Happy holidays...

Default you can buy front & rear pads and rotors for < $240.00 from one of the AW advertisers......

and do it yourself or have a decent mechanic install them for a fraction of the dealership labor charge.
