Debadging hell
I have a pearl white 98 A4 1.8T. I took the 1.8T badges off today and I still have a very distinct imprint/shadow of the badges on the car. It almost appears as if some of the clearcoat has been removed. I spent about an hour with the scratch remover, polish and wax, with some results, but nothing drastic.Any ideas on how I can fix the problem (without refinishing my trunk) because I like the debadged look.

Well for one...wax is a sealant...not a cleaner....
...so putting that on will just seal in the problem.
What is the imprint/shadow? is it residue from the glue? If it is...keep working with the goo gone.
If its something else, try some 3M IHG or even clay bar the small area. If that doesn't work...rebadge or take it to a body shop and have them touch up that one spot.
