DEF Error and Dead Instruments
Hi Guys
Im new here, so be kind!
Im running a 96 A4 1.8 (non turbo) and have a problem with dials.
The LED display reads my mileage then 'Def' underneath. Also the Rev counter, speedo and fuel guages are all dead.. but the temp guage goes to full.
Anyone seen this before? Any ideas? User manual says i should go to my Audi dealer...

Its a laptop diagnostic tool that plugs into the car.
You can test the cluster with it . Costs about $200 or there is generic one for less than $100.Since you are maybe not in North America. You might see if someone in your local forum has one. The Audi dealer is going to tell you to replace the cluster.
