Had the timing belt and water pump replaced plus a snub mount installed this week and the car's sound has changed a lot. The first brand new water pump they put in broke immediately while they were running the car in the garage... so they sourced a local part and stayed late with my car (9:30pm) to get it to me. They got a water pump from an 88 Jetta (new part... but thats what it was destined for) and apparently its the same part... when I talked to them and asked them about it, they seemed knowledgeable and I trust the shop pretty well... but afterwards my car has a deeper sound in the engine... its like the fan for the AC is on all the time... but my AC is off. The power is the same, no drop in power, and boost is the same as before. There seem to be no negative effects to this other than the noise, and I just want to make sure it doesn't sound like anything bad. Anyone?
