Does 1996 audi a4 have its key chipped

My key was reall skiny and the casing was a flashlight, just wondering if the keys are chipped or not?

my 96 12v a4 qm has a standard non flip out key.. i can get copies for under $5

the dealer ship wanted $40 for one and then they could not even make it correctly.. so their parts guy sent me to who they use for difficult keys.. wtf its an audi key whats difficult about it..lol

where at? I need a key to start my car it’s my daily and I just lost my keys
