Default does sqeaking brakes mean my brake pads are getting thin?

i've noticed lately that when i depress the brakes for normal braking i get sqeaking now. i have never had a sqeaking problem before this, and it has only started around 36,000 miles.

Default I just had that, and my pads were fine. The glaze on the rotors was worn, however, and Audi simply

resurfaced my rotors for me. For a few days my rotors looked like $hit, because they had essentially sanded them down to remove the old coating, but no more squeal, stronger braking, and all with the same pads. If you have warranty still, have 'em check it.
