Default Driver's window reversing/stopping on its own

Periodically, I'm seeing the driver's side window auto-reverse on its own. It happens when I pull out of the toll booth. After paying the toll, I hit the one-touch up and accelerate hard. It seems that somewhere when I shift into 2nd, the window reverses back open or just stops where it is. Does the window reverse feature work off of a current-sensing device? Does the hard acceleration followed by hitting the clutch fool the window into thinking that it is being obstructed? I know the window is designed (for safety reasons) to reverse when obstructed, but will repeated occurrences reduce the longevity of the window regulator/motor/whatever?

Thanks
Eric

Default I bet it's the pinch protection feature......

If the window senses too much resistance (we're not talking electrical resistance here), it will stop going up as part of the pinch protection feature. Maybe your window rails are dirty and it is causing enough resistance to fool the motor into thinking it is closing on an object (hand, arm, boob). If you are under warranty, take it in and they will lube the window rails for you. If you out of warranty, take off the door panel and try and lube it yourself.

Default I believe the system to be current based...

The current spikes when an obstruction is met, that large delta triggers the reverse..

In theory things like dirty rails should not affect it as that would be more of a constant higher current, not a big delta.

If it's just a limit (current > X constant -> reverse) then the dirt could affect it.

Default Mine does the same thing at the office toll booth (m)

When I hit the window up button the window will reverse when I hit the first speed bump inside the parking structure. I think it is the pinch protection feature kicking in - nothing to worry about.
