ECU code question..

I'm looking for a spare ECU for my '01.5 A4 1.8T. I'm searching through wreck yards and may have found a couple that may work, but I'm not too knowledgeable about what the numbers on the ECU mean. I have a CH box... that I know. When looking for a spare, what else do I need to confirm besides the 'CH' (any other numbers on the ECU matter?)

Any ECU from a 2001 A4

Ending in either M or CH

let me know how that goes. What kind of prices are you coming across?

I'm getting ready to chip and after speaking with Maplewood Audi, they seem none-to-pleased with the idea of chipping. Have you talked to your dealer about it?

Have you tried a M in a CH or vice versa?

I'm just curious..

i dont remember...

one or the other... but both have been tried and work fine.

I went from M stock to CH chipped.

(searched the archives from when i bought the chip)

It depends on who you talk to. Talk with Carlos at Maplewood. Tell him you know me.

Never talk to service about it. They are brainwashed to believe that the root cause of all car problems is from chipping. That's why I'm getting a spare.

I found a place that wanted $125 for an ECU that may have worked for me, but turns out it got crushed :-\ I have found a place now that is asking $200.. I'm following up with them.
