Well, my scoop is this: I bought this used 558 M with an APR chip. After I did my TB, WP,spark plugs
PCV sys, air change and oil filter this weekend. I thought she was ready for the extra power, so I swapped in this ECU. Well, I immediately had problems at idle and there was no power in crease of any kind. I had it scanned at autozone and it gave me an ECU code. I'll VAG it later tonight and see what I get but WTH? I was informed that these were interchangeable and it doesn't seem that way.

IIRC, the 558M and 557P are compatible. You need to do a throttle body adaptation and check that the
transmission is coded correctly (automatic vs. manual).
The Autozone scanner is too generic, which is why you got a basic ECU error. You'll need VAG-COM.

Is the ECU modified or touched AT ALL with the Flashloaders? Or does it all electronic to stock ECU?
