Default edit (how) can I tell if my wheel bearing is making the noise? is replacing wheel bearing DIY?

There is rumbling/humming noise(still cant determine which side yet) when running above 40mph. not sure if its the tire or wheel bearing. Im wondering if there is a way of checking which is causing the noise.

is there special tool I need to pull the bearing out of the hub?

check your wheels and lug bolts first. Also loose brake/rotor

Default make sweeping turns to both sides (loading the bearings)...they get louder when loaded...

that will point you in the right direction of which one(s) is(are) bad...

I also get louder when I'm loaded

Default Could be DIY...

You'll either need to remove the entire "knuckle" and take it to a shop to have them press out the bearing. Or, buy a HubShark ($300?) and you can press the bearing out without removing the knuckle. I've never done one, just going by what I've read here.... Good luck.

I had same. When I rotated tires front/rear, there was an obvious change = bad tire.

Can I do this test even if the noise is coming from the back wheels?
