Yep, but not warming-up and definately no lugging. Old ladys should "beat on it", we should not...
A normal driver should drive like they normally would. Someone who normally drives softly like granny should either try to beat on the engine or have someone (like me) beat it for them to seat the rings. Moly helps the cross-hatching wear flat rather than being rolled-over. Use moly oil or add Valvoline SynPower Oil Treatment, 1/2 bottle max. More above.

Downshift or stay in gear to shape the ring profile on top.Moly oil or VSOT helps the cross-hatching
wear flat rather than being rolled-over. Going back to the downshifting, it sucks the rings against the cyl wall on the upstroke, shaping the profile ideally. Long downhill runs in gear is best, maybe bliping the throttle. Drive a lil harder every day and observe warm-up cool-down. Do not hammer it anytime until oil temp is at +200f, ok a lil less but use your judgment. Break-in is over at 1500-2000 miles.
