Engine Noise

I am having a terrible noise come from my engine area every so often when I am at idle in stop and go traffic, and when I step on the gas the noise goes away, but it makes a release sound as I move on down the road. Has anyone had this problem, or possibly know what is causing it, my ECM is orange on my dash, and it seems performance is down a little bit. any help would be awesome

ok as an update, so I am not too general about the problem, a timing code has been one of two codes other than fuel too lean, as the result of running a diag. test. and the noise is more of a knocking than anything else, and if I am in neutral and press the gas to hold around 1100rpm, the noise goes away.

My guess is you have or installed a BOV.

replace the BOV with a 710N DV before you ruin the engine...

Blow off valves are not good for these cars!! Keep it Euro, keep it clean, leave the BOV for the ricers!!!

there is nothing on the car other than what came from the factory, so its not a BOV, or any other type of valve, so I have to rule that out, but thanks anyways
