engine problem....
lookin for answers for an engine problem. its a 2002 vw passat with the 2.8l v-6 30v engine. it has 47k on it and has NOT had the timing belt job done yet. when it comes to a stop it makes a buzzing humming noise, and makes the car shake at a very fast paced vibration. while driving its fine, only at an idle does it do this. also while down shifting and upshifting into 1st gear most noticeably, it feels like it has a hard time catching the gears and studders to shift. i am assuming it has some type of transmission problemo. it is the 5 speed auto tiptronic transmission. its going to the dealer in the next few days but just gettin a heads up of wahts to come. thanx Josh

thanx for gettin back to me. its my gf's car so when she gets home this afternoon i will check them out. i have a 98 a4 2.8 30v so im assuming these engines are very much alike. but i also have the 5 speed manual transmisson so. am i correct by saying if an engine mount is bad, it would have a purplish colored oil like substance coming from it? thanx again Josh
