Default A semi-clicking noise coming from engine bay

It sounds like it's coming from the engine.. not really from the belts or fan.

I had my timing belt done by a fellow audiworlder and had the car completely apart.

I am hoping to god that we just forgot to tighten something but not sure why it is making that noise.

The car is smooth as heck, no problem with mileage/smells. I guess what I am trying to say is nothing else is out of the ordinary, just this noise.

Almost sounds like its knocking but I only put 93 in my car, never ever put anyting lower.

Any help would be greatly apreciated.

Default well, it could be a few things - lifters; run thicker oil, check valve; nothing you can do about it,

some other issue; can't tell you unless I have a listen!

Check valves can be replace, although not too cheap.

Default How thick???

I have been ready to ask this question.
I have a clunk, cluck clunk noise on start up. I had my ear on the back of the valve cover and i can hear the noise coming from the cam tensioner. When i did my valve cover gasket, i took a look at it and it was clean, the plastic guide the chain rides on was looking like new. I pressed on it and the chain is tight....etc.
I guess i have a noise cam tensioner????. Im running 0w-40, should i be looking at 5w-50/10w-50/15w50?????

Default You have a bad cam tensioner.

Just saw one at work the other day that my brother fixed that had the exact same problem.
