failed plug=replace turbo

Default failed plug=replace turbo

My 99.5 1.8TQS with 66,000 (highway) had the #1 cylinder plug break off @ the tip and get sucked into the turbo. Could have been worse, there were slight scuffings on the #1 piston, but no head/valve damage. Turbo was trashed. Audi is only willing to belly up 25% of the bill. Because I hadn't change the plugs @ 60K, they weren't willing to pay 100%. Dealer is going easy on the labor costs (3 days). Anybody had a Bosch plug break apart like this?

Default First......who changed the plugs at 30K??? Audi uses NGK's not bosch...

If the dealer did U'r 30K and used bosch. that's on THEM!!
second, what ever happens. I think this it the time to call AWE and get the K04 kit($1200)*

3 days? Turbo takes 4-6 hours to replace. What else are they doing?

Are you sure? I thought Audi used Bosch.

Default Actually Audi uses a few different plugs. Depends on the supply they get at the time.

I have seen NGK's and bosch used.

Default broken plug

I've seen the ceramics break off plugs before, but that was because of extreme detonation. Usually a highly modified motor w/o enough fuel.

Audi used NGK's on the 225HP TT's and the '00 to present 1.8T motors
