Final pics of my car... and the conclusion to my story...

So... first off to the vultures. I let you down, the bodyshop claims person was there with me while I took stuff off... so I was only allowed to take things of value. If i took any extra parts she was going to knock them down so the insurance company would know and take it out of the final settlement. The only thing I got worth giving up is the rear tail lights. Everything else I took i'll end up keeping. Conclusion to story is as follows...

Insurance is paying me the price of the car bluebook. Approximatley 12K. Next; for any modifications I have with receipts I can submit those and have them paid off as well. I.E. rims/tires/headlights/rs4 grill/etc.

The other car I hit was not registered in 4 years and had baja plates. Most likely the guy is gone because he has not filed a claim against insurance.
And the final pics of my car...
How it looked when i first bought it...

How much did they want if you bought it back?

You could have fixed this for little $$?

Unless the engine is toast, and the timing belt looked intact, then 5k$ of the money they gave you after the settlement would have had you in a new carbon front end, bumpers and allwith everything perfect. I really like that color and interior combo, nicest I have seen and it looks like you cared for the car, I am sorry you lost it. For everyones benefit always have a good bodyman you trust look at things before settling, rebuilders make lots of money from cars like this. I know a guy who is a millionare from buying salvage or wrecked and rebuilding.

I think you will see this car back on the market as a salvage title. The last totaled Audi I had I bought back the car for 500$ (later sold parts off it and realized over 30k$ + the 12k$ that they gave me for a 93 URS4 and a nice one, but that car had huge mods) and the insurance man didnt classify it as a salvage, I retained a regular title. If you have sig. modified engine and driveline it is only way to go.

Again I am really sorry you lost the car, but next time you should look into repairing, usually if you insist, and the cost to repair doesnt exceed the payout then they will cooperate. They figure jobs on formulas and if you even know a body man you can usually save lots of money over their estimate to repair. all this go's out the door if you dont have a passing acquaintence with a body guy/ cant do any work yourself/ or it involves major structural or mechanical damage.

I have a friend ;>} who has totaled 7 cars and bought back 5 and made money on all last 5, only because 1 was trashed and it took one to learn how the system worked. Many times adjusters will have close relationships with the rebuilders. Dont trust insurance companies.

That's really too bad dude. Go figure the guy who caused it doesn't have a way to pay for it.

Good luck!
