Finally, my 1st G2 review (long review)
Picked up my car with the G2 Supercharger installed this afternoon. It took nearly 2 weeks to get the problems ironed out associated with the software not being programmed for 91 octane California gas with DBW. The end result was the timing detuned a few degrees, so I'm sure I don't have the full 280-290 hp that typically comes with the G2. Anyway, that being said, my first drive of the car, it feels great. Very strong throughout the range, although at the high end it feels particularly strong. I also had the tip chip put in and that also feels more responsive, so the combination really turns the car into a very powerful sporty car. Since I have never driven a car with the G2 before that would have the full 280-290 hp, I don't have that frame of reference, but I would be curious to know what I am currently running. Once I get more of a chance to drive the car and put it through the paces, I'll post more.
One important note is that DynoSpot Racing in Mountain View (moving to San Jose), and Dick Chiang the owner, were awesome on the install. They basically ended up performing development work for PES for a DBW system with 91 octane gas and didn't charge me for anything other than the install even though they spent many hours of testing and tuning. I highly recommend those guys, they now their stuff. Also, from what I was told, Garrett and GIAC put in a lot of time on this and made it a priority, so if he is reading this, thanks a lot. As for Tony at PES, I appreciate that he spent time working with both Garrett and Dick, but I feel a bit deceived that I wasn't told up front that I was basically the beta guy on this and would not end up with the full power of the G2. I'll be taking that up with Tony next chance I get to speak with him. More to come....
