is a flashing CEL very bad? right now its just solid on, but it was flashing before... car seems to
run fine though...
started flashing when i was at the track.

when that happens..you need to vag it.
check for DTC's when that happens. Then search under the DTC name to get an idea about a fix. If the AudiWorld search does not yield an answer...ask in the forum by stating the code(s)and any possible symptoms. Also, remind us what year and engine you have...it makes it easier sometimes to figure things out.

I like your response better as well. I wanted to mention two things...
First, if you ever come across a full size pass. mirror and housing you are not gonna use and want to sell...think of me. I need to replace this tiny one and I'm too cheap to buy one at the dealer. Second, did you ever check out Becker HU's? People on here have asked about the Traffic Pro unit that is from Harman/Becker. I believe it was first introduced from Harman/Kardon..but did they get bought out or merge with Becker? I don't know but all the units have Becker on them now...thought you would like that. lol

as for the radio... I never bothered to change the head unit in the sedan since I just track/AX the car.

yes, but through 199,999 includes the small size mirror.
And I have had some of these places try to sell me a small one already. It lists many that are 200,000+ and are also the 99 A4. So from 200,000 is a different mirror that will not fit my A4? I'm not of the know on the different types other than big or small, sorry.
