Default Flooded Engine

My engine is good and flooded, and its so flocking cold outside it doesn't want to evaporate on its own. I've read the "push the gas pedal to the floor" trick on AW but its not very clear how to do it, anyone know how it works?

I push the gas and the clutch down, crank for 10 seconds. If it doesn't start, wait a minute, then crank again (how long?) without the gas pedal? Do those durractions sound correct? Once it tries to start, do you let off the gas pedal or keep pusing it down?

How is this supposed to clear the flooding? Wouldn't this put more gas in?

The archive said that the ECU has a "clear flood" mode, where it just shuts the injectors off entirely during startup when the accelerator is pushed.

Default You could always pull the plugs and light off the excess fuel. It's a little scary to do but it will

burn off the fuel. Then pop the plugs back in and retry.

Default See if you can trip the fuel cut off switch in the right quarter panel. Then crank it...

If it keep flooding you could hydro lock the motor and do some damage. Liquids don't like to compress like air.

Default I had the same porblem with my G1.....too much damn fuel....

Take out the plugs, clean them, and if you have laquer thinner, drop in a TINY bit in each cylinder. It is extremely flamable and shudl ignite pretty well. Once you put the plugs back in, put the pedal to the floor and hold it while you crank. Crank for maybe 5-10 sec then stop. Take out the plugs, clean again then replace them again. this time around don;t touch the gas pedal. Crank as normal. I had to repeat this twice before my car finally started....luck for you though you can get to all your plugs easily(i could not, 3 of mine were under the SC).....Wish you luck
