A friend of mine has a squeel coming from his front right wheel....
 

and it goes away when he hits the brakes. Is this a wheel bearing issue or could it be the brakes? He'd appreciate any input.

had that problem a few weeks ago...
 

I replaced the pads, rotors, and lines on all 4 wheels just for kicks. But upon examination of the pads and rotors, it just looks like the pads wore unevenly. So that might be the issue. Perhaps you could take the wheels off to have a better view.

If the CV boot is ripped that will narrow it right down...
