Default Front End Noise Resolved

I have been stuggling to find the source of a loose bolt noise sound in the front end of my 2001 1.8t for months. After replacing all the control arms, tie rod ends and retorquing numerious bolts, I was about ready to give up. Finally found the cause was one of the three spring prongs that fit into the back of the front passenger brake caliper. The two opposing horizontal prings were tight, but the top vertical prong was loose. After bending the prongs out to keep the shoe tight in the caliper, the sound is gone! If any of you have experienced this, you may want to check these prongs.

Default You mean the spring shown in this picture?

Default I think he means the clips on the back of the inside pad.

That clips onto the actual brake piston.

Sounds like it if he could bend the tabs out and it went away.

Default yeah, you're right. I was thinking of mine where my outside pad is loose and rattles right now.

Not sure if that spring clip will tighten it down or if I am going to have to buy new calipers...
