Default FVCK!!!! My ribbed v-belt is shredding! I had it changed with the timing belt 40k ago

So I still have 20k to go on the timing belt. Should I just say fvck it and do my timing belt and all related now or wait and do the v-belt with the lock carrier in service mode?

Also, does someone have any advice on setting the lock carrier in service mode? I'd like to do this with as little removal as possible because my car is at a friend's house 3 blocks away.

Default you can get it off without putting it into service position...

I believe you can just take the ac belt off from the bottom and then remove the other belt from the top. At least that is what i remember but it is late and I could be completely wrong.

Default Actually, that makes sense. Namely it's the Water/PS pump belt, but I might was well do all

three at the same time.

Sigh, when it rains, it pours I guess.

Default My car hates me. It knows I want to run without problems, so it breaks something else

Fix a leak (coolant), electronics fry (MFS). Fix the electronics, a belt snaps.

Yeah, that makes a lot of sense. LOL.

Having semi-skinny arms pays off for a change. w00t!

Default I know. And again, the car has never, ever left me stranded. It always breaks within walking

distance of home or at home.

Hooray for inexpensive AutoZone belts. $20 or so for all three belts.

Default I so rarely go to AutoZone for parts, it truly is a wonder why it stuff snaps

Carson goes there to buy his axles. $100 and lifetime warranty. Try getting that for OE axles. Plus, I could buy two sets for belts for my car for the cost of one OE set.
