Default Headlight washers

01 A4 headlight washers do not operate at all. Any ideas where to start?

Do you have the headlights on when you activate the windshield washers? Is there at least enough fluid in the reservoir to cover the top pump? Does the pump have power?

Yes on the headlights, yes on the fluid. Not sure where the top pump is or how to test for power.

The pumps and reservoir are in the driver's side front fender. You need to remove the liner inside the wheel well, or at least remove the screws for the front half and peel it back. Search this forum, you will find several threads regarding this issue.

Found them. I hear the pumps running. Windshield works great, nothing from headlight washers though.

There is a connection on the hose to the headlamp washers just under the bumper on the driver's side. This is the connection you disconnect if removing the bumper. Remove the clip and the line will disconnect. Then operate the headlamp washers and see if the liquid squirts out. If it does then your problem is at the headlamp end. Otherwise, the pump. Again, search the forum, there are posts about removing/repairing the pop-up squirters.
